Russian Dating Scams and Russian Bride Scams are prevalent and growing at a dramatic pace. Its really pathetic that these Russian dating scams and Russian bride scams target men (including some women) from US mainly since most men from the US tend to date Russian women or take a Russian Bride. Follow along with me here and I will show what is happening.
How do these Russian Dating scams work?
The typical Russian dating scam story begins with the man getting a response to his personal ad. Men also tend to respond to a profile thats a young, hot super-models profile. Sure the super model type wants to date a 40 to 50 year old guy. No sorry don’t think so. Protect yourself and watch this video now.
In most of these Russian Dating scam stories, the girl usually will be much younger than the man. The man almost certainly gets excited by the thought of an attractive young woman taking interest in him, and he thinks he has hit the jack pot. Guys this is how the scammers target you. You unfortunately are open and do not have the neccessary knowledge to see the signs.
The Russian Bride Scams work in the same way in that men are looking to find a wife overseas. These scammers know these men are more serious about finding love and target you in the same fashion. But they are much more aggressive in their approaches.
After a few emails and a lot of provocative photos the woman claims to be madly in love with the man. She asks to visit him in his country. However there is usually a problem that comes up. She does not have money for a visa and/or air ticket. He is then asked to send her money by a wire transfer via Western Union. Scammers can pick up this money anywhere in their country.
Other ways of getting money out of victims include faking a family “tragedy”, or an injury while coming to visit their new love in the west and the list goes on. But unfortunately men have been falling for these Russian Dating Scams for many many years. And this is only getting bigger as more men turn to foreign women for love or marriage.
But, not every Russian woman or dating service is a scam. A good majority of these women are honest and have sincere intentions. I was sort of a victim of this, with my ex boyfriend. He got caught up in this foreign affair and even though he got wise to the scam, he dumped me. I’m not sure how to compete with this type of thing, but I’ve grown wiser to the signs and a little stronger from the experience.

I am so sorry to hear that Mindy. Seems to happen more and more lately. Guys just don’t seem to get that if it sounds to good to be true then it usually is. But damm if he was dating you then there was no reason to be online looking! 
I’m learning how to make myself more open to online dating but this sets me back a bit. Of course it’s about a man’s experience but it could still happen to a woman at a bar or club who meets a guy for the first time. I’ve a lot to learn about trusting…
